Pedestrian hit by car in Hawkwood, suffers serious injuries

A 16-year-old boy remains in serious but stable condition in hospital after being hit by a car on the sidewalk, throwing him 15 metres.
It happened around 3:20 Sunday afternoon in the 300 block of Hawkwood Blvd. northwest.
The woman driving the Toyota Camry that struck the pedestrian was uninjured.
Duty Inspector Paul Malchow tells the Herald that police are still trying to determine what caused the driver to veer off the roadway and onto the sidewalk.
He also said it’s too early to tell whether charges are pending.
