Two men killed in head-on crash north of Stettler

RCMP said two men were killed when the vehicles they were driving collided head-on in central Alberta.

An SUV heading northbound on Highway 56, about 15 kilometres north of Stettler, reportedly crossed the centre line and struck a southbound minivan at approximately 2:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Drivers of both vehicles, an elderly man and a middle aged man died of their injuries.

A passenger in the minivan was airlifted by STARS to an Edmonton hospital in serious condition.

RCMP said they don’t believe alcohol or road conditions were factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
