Country star Terri Clark to be honoured at National Music Centre

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Canadian Country Music icon Terri Clark is back in Calgary for a prestigious honour.

The Juno and Country Music Award winner will be at Studio Bell: National Music Centre on Tuesday for a plaque unveiling.

Last year, Clark was inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame joining the likes of artists like Paul Brandt, Gordon Lightfoot, and Ian Tyson.

Clark, spent some time in Calgary when she was a kid says it’s a huge honour to be recognized by her peers in country music.

“It’s sort of a milestone and a feather in your cap at a period in your life and career where people have recognized that you’ve paid your dues and put in your time and had enough success to be recognized by your peers and the industry. That’s a tremendous honour.”

She goes on to say that having the ceremony close to home just adds to the honour.

“It’s very full circle that this is happening in Calgary and where this permanent plaque about my career that started in Alberta is finishing in Alberta too.”

The ceremony goes at 4:00 p.m. at the National Music Centre and tickets can still be purchased at studiobell.ca
