CALGARY (660 NEWS) – The Calgary Chamber of Commerce is taking steps to help grow business in the city.
On Monday, the Chamber announced it would contribute $1 million to InterGen Capital, a non-profit group that helps grow emerging companies.
“This is about the Chamber walking the talk and being part of the growth story of our city,” said Sandip Lalli, President and CEO of the Calgary Chamber. “When businesses flourish so do the families and communities they serve and employ.”
InterGen pairs companies with retired and transitioning business professionals, offering training and round table discussions with investors.
“The fund is a vital part of InterGen’s commitment to accelerate the growth and scale of high-potential Calgary companies by pairing them with talented retired and transitioning business talent committed to our province’s future,” said InterGen board chair, Brian Felesky.
Lalli adds many emerging companies struggle to grow and this investment puts Calgary businesses first and help bring investment back to the community.
