For the line to be completed the city had under go changes on major roadways.
“The Line runs along Glenmore Trail, so we did some improvements along the shoulder there for the buses to be able to operate similar how we have on Crowchild trail,” said Anne Cataford, Manager of Major Transit Projects.
“We also built a new pedestrian bridge across 90th avenue and updated the 75th avenue pedestrian bridge.”
Construction has wrapped up for this year, however, Cataford warns of minor construction happening in the New Year.
The introduction of the new line comes with 21 services changes with the goal of improving efficiency and connections to major destinations.
“When we launch new services, and a number of new bus routes, we also provide a lot of customer information leading into the service change,” said Asif Kurji, acting manager of transit planning.
“On the day of, we will have people at various destinations to provide information and answer question to people who are navigating the new service.”

MAX Yellow is the final BRT line expanding the service to all four quadrants of the city.
The introduction of the Max Purple, Teal and Orange lines in November provided service to over 320,000 Calgarians living across 32 communities.
“They’re still growing and anytime we launch a new service, ridership tends to grow from there,” added Kurji.
“Over the year we have been seeing increase along the way and we expect to the same to happen with Max Yellow.”
