One man dead after altercation in southeast Calgary

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — Police are investigating a homicide near 9th Avenue S.E., in the community of Radisson Heights.
Officers responded to reports of two males in an altercation inside of a residence around 9:30 p.m. on Friday night.
Acting Inspector Sarah Roe says a woman reported the call to police.
“The complainant called us saying that she’d heard two males fighting in a basement,” Roe said.
“Upon our arrival we found one male deceased and the other male was arrested.”
The man found dead is in his 40s while a 39-year-old was arrested.
Police say there was no indication of a firearm being used during the incident and there is no threat to public safety.
Officers will be continuing the investigation and an autopsy is scheduled for early next week.
