Injured cougar preying on dogs in Bragg Creek: police

Residents of Bragg Creek, west of Calgary, are sounding the alarm after several dogs have been killed by a cougar.

In social media posts, people report as many as six family pets have been attacked and killed by the animal in the area ofver the last few months.

Signs have been set up on a number of trails by Alberta Parks — warning of a “dangerous cougar” in the vicinity.

Some trails have been closed all together.

The Tsuut’ina Nation Police Force says in a statement there is an “injured cougar preying on dogs in the Wintergreen area” and that fish and wildlife is handling the situation.

Traps have been set up to capture the animal before the situation escalates even more.
