It’s a sad ending to the search for a missing miniature donkey in Bragg Creek, just west of Calgary.
Twenty-eight-year-old Goliath disappeared earlier this week from his home of 24 acres at Banded Peak Veterinary Hospital.
It now appears the donkey was killed by a cougar.

Veterinarian Judith Samson-French, says as soon as she found out, she made the decision to move the rest of her miniature donkeys,
“In a split second, I had friends that came and helped out, got a trailer and we moved the other four donkeys,” she told CityNews. “The cougar is aware now that there is food there, so the cougar was going to come back at some point.”
It’s been tough for Samson-French — who’s cared for the animals for the past 25 years — to now have an empty corral.
She says the remaining miniature donkeys, who are all rescues, are now settling into their new home.
