Police seize drugs, find cannabis grow-op after searching two Calgary homes

A man is facing charges several charges after mounties searched homes in Calgary this week.

Airdrie RCMP say officers executed a search warrant at two homes in the Temple and Huntington Hills neighbourhoods on Thursday.

During the searches, police seized $16,000 in cash, unstamped tobacco cigarettes, and several suspected illegal drugs including fentanyl, methamphetamine and crack cocaine.

Officers also allegedly found an illegal cannabis grow operation and seized 265 cannabis plants.

Calgary resident Wing Hock Woo, 52, is facing eight charges including three counts of drug possession, growing more than four cannabis plants, selling tobacco products and theft of electricity.

The accused has been released on conditions and is set to appear in a Calgary courtroom in January.
