Explosion, fire at Red Deer industrial building leaves 5 workers hurt

Five workers were taken to hospital after an explosion and large fire broke out at an industrial building in Red Deer on Thursday.
Emergency crews were called to a workplace near 53 Avenue and 54 Street, just northwest of downtown Red Deer, around 3:20 p.m. for reports of an explosion.
Red Deer RCMP say fire crews were able to quickly put out the fire.
Five employees who were at the building were taken to hospital with various injuries.
Crews remain on scene as a precaution.
Investigators from Alberta Occupational Health and Safety are also heading to the scene.
