Calgarians can win Stampede goodies in midway food naming contest

A Calgary food truck is looking for help from the public to name one of its creations for this year’s Calgary Stampede midway.

The dish, created by The Dumpling Hero, is inspired by a traditional Hawaiian snack. It’s a bao bun with spam, garlic shrimp, pineapple, cucumbers, seaweed, and teriyaki sauce, according to the Stampede.

Calgarians are encouraged to submit their wildest, wackiest, and most mouth-watering ideas for the chance to win two Stampede SuperPasses and $100 in Stampede Bucks.

The lucky winner will also have the chance to sample their newly-named creation and attend the new midway food announcement event where the winning name will be revealed live.

The contest closes at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 5 and the winner will be chosen and contacted the next day.

Only Calgary and area residents are allowed to participate.

Contest submissions can be made here.
