Police are asking for help identifying a driver involved in a pedestrian crash earlier this month in the city’s northeast.
The crash happened on Dec. 2 at around 5:30 p.m when a woman and her six-year-old child were crossing at a marked crosswalk at McDougall Road and 9 Street NE.
A Chevrolet Equinox struck the pair as they were crossing, according to police. Both the mother and child sustained minor injuries.
The driver stopped at the scene and assisted the pedestrians, but then left without providing his information.
Witnesses described the driver as a man between 40 and 50 years old with a dark complexion. The vehicle is believed to be a silver or light-coloured Chevrolet Equinox, model years 2009 to 2017.
Investigators are urging anyone with information about the driver or the crash to contact police at 403-266-1234. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers.
