Calgary police seek information after 2 women sexually assaulted near Chinook CTrain station

Calgary police are asking for your help after two women were sexually assaulted near the Chinook CTrain station in two separate occasions earlier this month.

Calgary police are asking the public for information after two women were sexually assaulted near a southwest CTrain station, minutes apart by the same suspect, in early December.

The incidents happened on Saturday, Dec. 13, at around 5 p.m.

The first incident occurred at around 4:45 p.m. when a woman was walking north on 1A Street SW from the station — near the 58 Avenue intersection — when an unknown man approached her, then grabbed and touched her sexually.

The second incident, police learned after reviewing CCTV footage, happened when another woman was also found being sexually assaulted in the same area just minutes later.

Investigators hope to speak with anyone who has information about these incidents to help with the investigation.

They’re also asking for any dashcam footage from the 58 Avenue and 1A Street area on Dec. 13 between 4:45 and 5 p.m.

Calgary police encourage anyone who believes they are a victim of sexual assault to report it, regardless of when it occurred.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call them at 403-266-1234 or leave a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
