Vehicle catches fire on Deerfoot Trail in NE Calgary

A shocking site for many Calgary commuters Thursday, as fire crews attended a vehicle fire on southbound Deerfoot Trail around 7:15 am.

Commuters on southbound Deerfoot Trail got quite the sight Thursday morning when a vehicle burst into flames on the side of the road.

Calgary Fire Department Information Officer Alex Kwan says multiple calls were made to 911 around 7:30 a.m.

When crews arrived, they found a vehicle fully involved in flames on the right hand side of Deerfoot Trail and Memorial Drive.

It was quickly knocked down, and no one was hurt.

A fire investigator is working to determine the cause of the incident.
