Body of 12-year-old found north of Edmonton: RCMP

Alberta RCMP are investigating an Edmonton child's homicide. Athabasca RCMP announcing Sunday they were called about human remains on Thursday, which have since been identified as 12-year-old Fiasal Hussein.

Alberta RCMP say human remains that were found on the morning of August 6 belong to a 12-year-old from Edmonton.

Mounties responded to a report that human remains had been found near Highway 813 near Calling Lake or Range Road 213A, around 3:26 a.m.

An autopsy was completed on Aug. 7, which confirmed that the deceased was 12-year-old Fiasal Hussein, and that the manner of death was a homicide.

Mounties are investigating the death and are asking if anyone has any information or dash camera footage in the area between 12 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. on Aug. 6, to contact investigators at 780-675-4252 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
