Calgary police are investigating after a student was found dead inside a residence at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) Wednesday evening.
Investigators say around 5:40 p.m., officers were called to a residence tower in the 100 block of Dr Carpenter Circle NW for reports of a deceased person.
Police have identified the victim as a woman in her 20s and SAIT has confirmed she was a student at the post-secondary institution.
An autopsy was completed Thursday and the cause of death remains undetermined. The Homicide Unit is working to determine if the death is criminal.
Detectives spent much of Wednesday evening speaking with witnesses and notifying next of kin.
Police say there are no risks to public safety.
