YWCA warns of soliciting scam

The Calgary YWCA is warning Calgarians of an imposter out soliciting donations on their behalf.

The charity has received a few calls about a man in the community of Kensington asking shoppers for money to support the YWCA.

Silvana Saccomani tells 660News the Calgary YWCA isn’t running any kind of door-to-door or street campaign right now, typically they solicit donations using a direct mail campaign.

The man pretending to work for the charity is described as being around 21-years-old, wearing a dark jacket and carrying a YWCA identification tag.
