New LRT platform opens in the downtown

LRT riders now have a new place to get on the train.

The Calgary Herald reports the 7th Avenue and 8th Street C-Train platform re-opens Friday morning, with better lighting and sightlines.

Calgary Transit hopes the new platform will not be plagued with the same crime problems as before; the platform is near the infamous “crack corner.”

The old platform will be demolished in the next month.
