A great-horned owl on the Bridgeland LRT tracks this morning was one lucky bird.
C-train operator Warren Duclan spotted the owl ‘in distress’ on the tracks at the Bridgeland station.
Duclan just happens to have experience in handling birds and was able to wrap the owl in his vest.
He then called transit supervisor Brian Moreland, who happens to be a volunteer with the Calgary Wildlife Rehabilitation Society, and he took the bird in for treatment.
Moreland tells 660News it’s extremely lucky for the bird that Duclan was on the job.
Veterinarians are doing what they can for the owl.
