Reporter looks back on conversation with Ludwig

Convicted pipeline bomber Wiebo Ludwig is in custody and charged with extortion.

The arrest of the Hythe-area farmer came early Friday in Grande Prairie.

Reporter Byron Christopher spoke with Ludwig at his home last fall, where about 50 people live in modern homes on the large property.

The self-sufficient commune is complete with solar panels and a windmill that generates electricity.

Dozens of officers are now searching the property in northern Alberta.
