The 2010 Olympic Torch Relay is rolling into Calgary Monday afternoon and one of the best places to catch a glimpse of the flame is downtown at Olympic Plaza.
A free civic celebration will light up the area from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. across from City Hall, complete with live entertainment.
The cauldron at the Plaza will be re-lit at 7:00 p.m.
Alberta musicians Terri Clark and Crystal Plamondon will perform on the very ground where the Olympic gold, silver, and bronze medals were handed out during the 1988 games.
30 Canadian Olympic athletes, including Kyle Shewfeld and Susan Auch will also be there.
Calgarians are also asked to bring along a non-perishable food donation as well.
