Neighbours of a house that blew up in the southeast are out of their homes this morning.

The home exploded yesterday just after 4 a.m. sending shock waves through the community of Penbrooke Meadows with debris flying as far away as a block.

The force of the explosion damaged the house next door and before neighbours can move back in, it will have to be repaired and deemed safe.

The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
