The Calgary Board of Education has voted in favour of closing a pair of city schools.
Queensland Downs School will be shut down on June 30, 2010. Students who attended that school will be transferred to Deer Run Elementary and Haultain Memorial School.
Dalhousie School will also be closed gradually, starting in the spring.
As of June 30, Dalhousie will no longer offer Kindergarten to Grade 4.
Grades 5 and 6 will be phased out over the next two years.
All affected students will instead go to West Dalhousie School.
The CBE says it sought both parent and community consultation before making the final decisions.
