Delegates at Preston Manning’s conference on the future of Alberta were like miserly teachers.
The delegates had the chance to grade the Stelmach government on several areas but instead of A’s and B’s or even small C’s, they were handing out D’s and F’s.
The province received D’s for fiscal responsibility, the environment and democratic participation.
Health-care fared even worse. It was given an F.
Not all was bad though. Participants said they were pleased with education and economic development.
Members of the Stelmach government were noticeably absent.
St. Albert MLA Ken Allred was the only member of the Tory government on hand for the conference, which was geared to party’s right of centre.
