Calgary’s land sale hits high note

Calgary’s land sale tally has hit a 14-year high.

Alberta Energy reports it has raised $106-million in February sales, more than 12 times as much as it took at the same time last year.

It’s also three times as much as 2008.

President of the Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors, Don Herring, tells the Calgary Herald the land sales are a reflection of investment confidence.

The closest February sales total on record came in 2006, when $92-million was raised.
