Alberta capital bonds

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation is saying, “just say no”, to Alberta Capital Bonds.

For investors, the $100-million government of Alberta issue will pay a premium interest rate, 3.3 percent-a-year.

But CTF Alberta director Scott Henning tells 660News, the bond issue is like the old “shell” game.

The Stelmach government is paying a full half-a-percent more with this issue, compared with the $750-million bond issue late last year, in which it was paying 2.75 per cent.
