Olympic celebration in Calgary marred by weather

Yesterday’s weather put a damper on the Olympic celebration downtown at Olympic Plaza.

The chilly temperature and damp, foggy conditions limited the crowd for the late afternoon/early evening show.

Pierre Bouvier of Montreal’s Simple Plan joked at one point, “I feel like my tongue is frozen,” according to the Calgary Herald.

But Simple Plan played on, as did Calgary blues-rocker Lindsay Ell, who joined her band to warm up, following a mid-afternoon set.

About three hundred people showed up to the event.
