The disappointment of the performance of Canadian Athletes so far during the Winter Olympics is growing.
Our athletes have only won six Medals so far, well below expectations.
Before the games there were predictions Canada would win 30 or 35 medals.
Some are also questioning the “Own The Podium” program which pumped $120 million dollars into winter sports to help our athletes win gold, silver and bronze.
A former member of the “crazy canuck” ski team says people coast to coast have every right to feel like they have been let down.
“Jungle” Jim Hunter tells 660News unless there is a dramatic turnaround Canada is going to be hard pressed to match its medal total of 24 from four years ago in Turin, Italy.
Hunter says its time Canadians stop being so understanding when it comes to under achieving and start demanding more from those wearing the maple leaf.
He also says sports officials in this country better start preparing for the tough questions that are going to follow the games.
