The traditional and very popular Calgary Farmers Market may have some competition.

A new market named The Kingsland Farmers Market and it’s owners are in the process of applying for a development permit from the city.

It would be an outdoor facility but the backers do say they do have plans for an indoor, year round facility as well.

The owner says they don’t know at this point how many of the members of the old market would be willing to break away and join their new venture.
