Edmonton public school officials say a grade 10 student has died on a school field trip at a ski resort in British Columbia.

The 16 year-old boy was with other students from J. Percy Page High School on a ski holiday at Panorama.

School officials say Sklar Lockwood skied into some trees Monday morning.

The teen was airlifted to Invermere hospital, but died.

The other students on the trip are now returning to Edmonton.
