Police are at a dead end and are looking for help from the public in a beating a week ago, that has a man in hospital in critical condition.
54-year-old John Crafts was found unconscious with life-threatening wounds in an alleyway behind a church last Thursday night around 52nd Street and 8th Avenue S.E.
Crafts’ niece Dina Crafts flew to Calgary from Ontario and is also making an appeal on behalf of the family for anyone with information to come forward.
She says her uncle’s family is all back in Ontario and it’s important for them to get the answers they need.
Crafts is still in intensive care, clinging to life with serious head trauma, but the exact cause of the injuries isn’t clear.
Investigators say Crafts lives close to where the crime occurred and are hoping someone in the neighbourhood saw something that could shed some light on the case.
