People across the world will be in the dark this weekend.
Lights will be going out across the world Saturday night between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. for Earth Hour.
Calgary corporations are getting in on the initiative.
Cindy Turnquist is with 20 Vic, the company that manages TD Square and Holt Renfrew and says they’re hoping to see a big dip in their energy usage.
“Earth hour is something that’s important to all corporations that are supporters of eco-friendly initiatives,” she says. “I think we make a really sound contribution every year.”
Rogers offices across the country will also turn off their outside signs and lights during earth hour.
