It’s an unpleasant rarity in our city. A rat has been found in a Calgary alley.
The dead rodent was discovered Friday night in the northwest near Bergen Crescent and Centre Street.
Bylaw boss Bill Bruce tells CTV, the white colouring of the critter could mean it was being kept as a pet or bred in captivity for reptile food, but either way it shouldn’t have been in Alberta.
A necropsy will be performed to figure out how the rodent died.
Animal services will also be monitoring area for any other rat activity.
