In an effort to curb the expected rise in springtime crashes involving cars and motorbikes, police and EMS are telling drivers to slow it down and share the road.
Traffic police constable Jim Lebedev tells 660News motorbikes add a new dimension to traffic flow and speed reduces a drivers reaction time.
He says while motorcyclists are being told to slow it down, car and truck drivers need to properly shoulder check before changing lanes.
Adam Loria with EMS says motorcyclists also need to make sure they are wearing the proper gear or a simple case of road rash could be fatal.
Both say spring is a good time for everybody to review the rules of the road, because just like the weather traffic conditions change.
