Calgary police have arrested dozens of people in a crack down on prostitution and bawdy houses.
Police say a two week sting of street level prostitution nabbed 66 people leading to 88 charges, most for soliciting sex.
After a separate two month investigation, the Vice Squad has charged a 47 year-old Calgary woman who owns a business fronting as a hair dressers on 14th Street southwest with keeping a common bawdy house.
The alleged bawdy house ran out of Simple Scissors Hair Care. It operated as a hair salon but also offered relaxation massages in a back room.
Police say that is where sexual services were exchanged for money.
$1,500 in cash was also seized from that business.
Cita Rivera Lagundino has been charged with unlawfully keeping a common bawdy house, procuring a person for the purpose of prostitution, living off the avails of prostitution and possession of property obtained by the proceeds of crime.
