Calgary’s top cop says he welcomes the new bill to fight distracted driving.
“It’s unfortunate that common sense doesn’t prevail and that we have to have legislation that regulates people’s behaviour,” Police Chief Rick Hansen tells Citytv. “But it’s the way of the world today.”
The province introduced the legislation earlier this week to ban everything from talking on your cell phone to putting on your make-up while behind the wheel.
If caught, you’ll be fined $172, but no demerits will go on your licence.
