A major fire in Airdrie Monday night has destroyed three homes and a number of vehicles.

It appears the fire started on Springs Crescent S.E. and spread.

Fire crews, police and a helicopter were all called in to assist.

Witnesses started calling 660News shortly after 9:30 p.m. saying they could see and smell smoke all over Airdrie.

Crews remained on scene late Monday night dousing hot spots.

There’s no word yet on what sparked the blaze.
