Keep your house safe in the summer

As the weather warms and more Calgarians head outside to soak up the sun, police are warning to be cautious with the security of your home.

Even when gardening in your backyard, Sgt. Dean Vegso tells 660News it’s still important to keep your doors locked to prevent crimes of opportunity.

It takes mere minutes for someone to notice an unlocked front door with no one around and step inside to steal from your home.

Vegso says keeping the garage door closed is also essential, and adds that even when it’s scorching hot you should be locking up windows when you leave home.
