McIver in the mix for mayor

He’s finally confirming what everyone has suspected for months; Alderman Ric McIver wants to be Calgary’s next mayor.
The mayoral race grew Wednesday evening, when McIver officially announced his candidacy during a fundraiser event in the city’s southeast.
Around 1,000 people showed up in support – and paid $150 a piece.
McIver is the fourth person to announce he’s running for mayor, including fellow alderman Joe Connelly.
But you can expect several more mayor-hopefuls to throw their hats into the ring before long.
