On Friday morning, most streets and highways were bare and dry, but not everything is back to normal.

Road closures, bus cancellations and power outages are still plaguing southern Alberta.

Fortis Alberta crews have been working around the clock to try to get the electricity back for the more than ten thousand people who lost power Thursday.

While they’ve put the lights back on for most, problems do remain.

“We still are experiencing trouble in the Lethbridge area. It looks like we have about 2,000 to 2,500 customers without power,” Jennifer MacGowan with Fortis tells 660News.

Enmax has about 200 customers in Calgary without electricity.

There have been bus cancellations for schools with the Chinook’s Edge School Board. No busses will be running in Innisfail, Bowden, Olds, Didsbury, Carstairs, Cremona and Sundre.

The AMA website reports roads from Country Hills Blvd in Calgary to streets in Red Deer, are all in fair condition thanks to blowing snow and ice.

Meanwhile, in Calgary there is still a big road closure with 8th Avenue being shut down between 2nd and 3rd Streets.

A piece of metal is dangling from Bankers Hall. Maintenance crews won’t be up there to fix it until they’re confident the winds won’t pick up again.
