A winter storm warning has been issued for Calgary and parts of southern Alberta.
Strong winds and snow will start Monday night in Calgary and continue through Tuesday.
Calgary will mainly be affected overnight Monday. The strong northwest winds behind the low are expected to diminish by Tuesday afternoon.
It’s the second storm to wallop the area in less than a week.
660 Meteorologist David Spence says there won’t be as much snow as last week’s storm, but wind gusts could reach 90 km/h so when the snow falls, visibility will be reduced substantially.
He says the temperature is only expected to fall to about 2C, but it will feel a lot colder with the windchill.
Most of the snow is expected to melt when it hits the ground, but accumulations of 5 to 15 centimetres are possible.
