The UN Secretary General is coming to Canada.
Ban Ki-moon will be in Ottawa May 12 to meet with Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
The Prime Minister’s Office says they will be discussing a range of global issues and initiatives with a focus on the G-8 and G-20 summits being hosted in June.
Ki-moon will also meet with finance minister Jim Flaherty and international co-operation minister Beverley Oda.
He also plans to pay Governor General Michaelle Jean a courtesy call.
The PMO says the visit is an opportunity to reaffirm Canada’s commitment to the UN and recognize the organization’s central role in promoting peaceful relations and a stable, prosperous world.
