Toy buggy recall

A major toy recall has been announced in Canada and the U.S.

About 2.5 million ride-on toy buggies for toddlers are being recalled because of a defect that allows them to roll away uncontrolled.

The car-like buggies from “Step-2 Company” are meant for children two to three years old, and have long handles allowing parents to push them like a stroller.

The joint recall issued Tuesday from the company, Health Canada and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission say the handles can come off!

Health Canada says it has not received any reports of incidents or injuries, but there have been two incidents in the U.S..

The buggies have been on the market since 1999, until just a few months ago.

The recall doesn’t affect all the models, just certain types.

Only model numbers 715700, 792300, 7923TA, 7923OR, 796600, 7966TA, 768400, 882900 and 885700 are recalled.
