Deerfoot tow trucks making a difference

It looks like a move by the city to put tow trucks on standby for Deerfoot Trail is working.

A city report shows the trucks responded to 333 calls between February and April, 64 per cent of which happened during the start of the afternoon rush.

Traffic Manager, Troy McLeod, tells the Calgary Sun they’re hearing the program has made a significant improvement.

He says traffic can line up to as long as 1.5 kilometres in just 10 minutes, so clearing snarls is key.

The $636,000 pilot project began in February.
