We’re waiting longer for ambulances.
Since the province took over EMS almost two years ago, fewer ambulances are getting to their calls in less than eight minutes, the targeted response time.
The Calgary Herald reports that target only gets met 65 per cent of the time now, compared with 78 per cent of the time back in 2008, the last year the city ran the service.
Alberta Health contends the service is not suffering, but EMS union leader Rick Fraser says the provincial takeover is clearly failing.
