Calgary not so smart anymore

This is one smart city.
However, Calgary is not quite as smart as it used to be, according to Macleans magazine.
We have finished third on this year’s list of the high brow in Canada after coming out on top last year.
Macleans correspondent Nancy MacDonald tells 660News Calgary always does well in the rankings. “The reason for that I think is, for starters, there’s more money in the economy. More money seems to be going back into things like arts spending, culture spending, spending on job training.”
Victoria is number one this time around, followed by Saskatoon. in fact the only eastern city to make the top five was Ottawa.
The findings by the Canadian Council on Learning are based on everything from university graduation rates to museum attendance to participation in sports and volunteerism.
