Calgary firefighters support Red Fridays

Calgary firefighters have begun wearing red epaulettes on Fridays to support for Canadian troops.

The Red Friday campaign encourages men and women in uniform buy the red shoulder piece at a cost of $20 each.

So far, $2,800 has been raised for the Calgary Military Resource Centre.

Spokesperson Colleen Rowe tells 660News part of the money raised will go to teleconferencing, which helps families talk to and see their loved ones overseas.

Money raised is also used to make care packages for our soldiers.
