Vacation club charged

An Alberta travel club has been charged after a four year investigation.

Wild Rose Vacation Club is charged with deducting money from consumers accounts, failing to give refunds when ordered and misleading consumers.

It was back in 2006 that the province first told the company to cease operating until it got a travel club license.  Then in 2008 it was ordered to give refunds to people who cancelled their contracts.

Despite that, people who bought in said they were not getting their money back.  So, Wednesday the province announced the charges against Wild Rose and its director, under the Fair Trading Act.
