A new study from Environmental Defence Canada says the oilsands are polluting the air at record levels.
The Calgary Herald reports, air quality testing revealed companies violated the province’s air quality standards more than 1500 times last year, that compares to fewer than 50 times the year before.
A spokesperson for the group says despite assertions from the federal environment minister and Premier Ed Stelmach that they are getting tough on the oilsands, it’s not happening.
