Friday afternoon NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman announced there will be an outdoor NHL game in Calgary.

Although it is not set in stone, the tentative date is February 20 at McMahon Stadium where the Flames will host the Canadiens.

Bettman says it has to be approved by the competition committee but he doesn’t think it will be an issue.

The game in Calgary will be the second of two outdoor games next year, the first will be its annual Winter Classic on New Year’s Day. That game will pit Sidney Crosby against Alex Ovechkin as the Penguins host the Capitals at Heinz Field.
